How this site makes money.

The plain version

The Lunara Edit participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. That is an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

In practice: if you click certain links on this site and then buy something, the retailer pays me a small percentage. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would have been if you had gone there directly. You are never charged extra for using a link here.

How to tell which links are which

Affiliate links are marked in the page code with rel="sponsored", which is the standard that search engines ask for, and they open in a new tab. Any article containing them also carries a plain written note near the recommendations, because a machine-readable attribute is not a disclosure to a human.

Not every outbound link is an affiliate link. Plenty are just links to something worth seeing — a manufacturer’s page, a shop I have no relationship with, an app. Where a page mixes both, it says so specifically. The keyboard guide is a good example: some of those links pay me and some do not, and the page names which.

What money does not buy

This is the part that actually matters, so it is worth being specific:

• Nobody pays for a recommendation. I do not accept payment in exchange for coverage, a positive review, or a particular rating.
• Commission rates never decide rankings. Several things I recommend earn me nothing at all, and I have recommended cheaper options over more profitable ones throughout this site — the whole premise of the keyboard guide is to spend less until you know what you like.
• I write about things I have used. Where I have not used something and am going on research alone, the page says so.
• Tradeoffs get named. Every recommendation here includes what is wrong with the thing, because a review that only lists upsides is an advertisement.
• Nothing is auto-generated. There are no automated product feeds and no scraped “top ten” lists on this site.

Why disclose at all

Because the US Federal Trade Commission requires it, and because you deserve to know when someone recommending a purchase stands to benefit from it. A recommendation is only worth something if you can trust how it was arrived at, and that trust is worth considerably more to me than any single commission.

Prices and availability

Prices change, stock runs out, and products get discontinued or quietly revised. Anything mentioned here was accurate when written, but always check the current listing before buying — and if you find something out of date on this site, please tell me so I can fix it.
